Tarheel Canine PSA Club is the flagship PSA club in the United States. Home of multiple PSA National Champions and PSA 3 Club Members, and the place where many of the sport’s most recognized competitors and decoys got their start. Whether you’re an aspiring handler looking for private training lessons from Jerry himself or seeking a green or pre-trained competition dog to excel in PSA, American Schutzhund or IGP, Tarheel Canine PSA has you covered. Contact us in advance for drop-ins to training, visits for potential new members, or to book PSA seminars with your club or training group wanting to deepen their knowledge in the sport. If you’re unsure if private lessons are the right fit, Tarheel Canine boasts an active club for members training in various protection sports, providing a supportive environment to learn alongside other enthusiasts.

Tarheel Canine offers virtual training sessions with renowned trainer Jerry Bradshaw. These 30 or 60-minute consultations allow you to discuss your dog’s issues and receive a personalized training plan.

These private lessons provide one-on-one coaching with a professional for both obedience and protection aspects of PSA.

Tarheel Canine PSA is dedicated to training dogs for PSA competitions. We are a competitive group with members actively seeking to pursue titles in PSA. Private lessons are available for members and non-members, or those looking for sessions for their protection dogs or dogs from other sport disciplines.
If you are interested in joining our club, contact Jerry Bradshaw jbradshaw@tarheelcanine.com to see if there are any current openings in the membership. Visits should be arranged in advance. If you have been cleared for visiting as a potential member, please print out the application below, and bring it to your first club meeting. You are required to make 3 visits before you will be voted on. Potential members are admitted by unanimous consent of the existing members. All members of Tarheel Canine PSA must join and maintain membership in The Protection Sports Association the parent organization of Tarheel Canine PSA.
The dues for the club and other fees (drop ins) are available on request. Dues are payable monthly. The dues are separate from any training fees arranged with Jerry Bradshaw or Controlled Aggression Media LLC.
Controlled Aggression PSA Seminars!
Ready to take your PSA training to the next level? Jerry Bradshaw offers a number of intensive workshops and seminars designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to excel in competition. Jerry, an International PSA Judge, has coached many of the sport’s top competitors and former national Champions, and he himself is a 4x Upper Level (PSA 2 & 3) National Champion and 3 time PSA 3 Club Member, PSA Hall of Fame Inductee with many times High Obedience and High Protection at the club, regional and national levels in PSA. Jerry has also competed in Schutzhund being a former Southeast Regional Champion in SchH 3 with Arrow of Tigerpaws (5x SchH3) winning many times high scores in all 3 phases, and V score in protection at 1996 USA National Championships. But more than these individual accolades Jerry has coached many handlers to earn titles, win club trials, regional trials and National Championships with overall high scores in obedience and protection, high in trial, and high owner trained.
Jerry’s philosophy for winning involves drilling simple fundamentals to perfection, understanding and influencing your dog’s state of mind in training and trials, and handling and training with the right emotional balance to create speed, power and above all trust and reliability in the relationship with your competition dog. When choosing a coach, mentor or seminar instructor look not at just their individual accomplishments and experience but whether they have brought those they have had influence over along to success with them.
